OUR CSA ON CBS!

Over the weekend, CBS aired a piece of really thoughtful reporting on our contribution to Harvest Share, a program based in Sunset Park, Brooklyn that aims to support healthy diet and strengthen community and social ties in the neighborhood. The program includes culturally appropriate, community supported agriculture (CSA) shares and nutrition education to the Sunset Park community. Our contribution to the program is growing culturally specific crops for our Chinese American neighbors in Sunset Park. The piece features our partner Dr. Stella Yi of NYU’s Grossman School of Public Health, who shares that she spearheaded this program in part to offer local residents that “one bite of food [that] transports you back to being a five year old kid.” What a perfect synopsis of what we aim to do as a rooftop farm rooted in our vibrant and unique communities!
