Our half-day team building itineraries are designed to give your team the perfect balance of work and play. The four-hour package includes a catered farm lunch, a guided tour, and meeting time – with the option to include a hands-on workshop. THE NATURAL DYE ARTIST

We will use flowers, roots, exotic dyes, medicinal plants and even food waste to make a vibrant rainbow of natural color! Our instructor will teach you how to make your own dye pot, how to enliven natural fabrics using various dye techniques. Leave with new understanding of clothes and the power of the natural world!
Fabric swatches will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring 1-3 small items to dye (t-shirt, socks, tote). Items should be made of cotton, wool, silk or polyester.

THE URBAN FARMER

In our hands-on workshop, you’ll step into our farmers’ shoes and get your hands dirty work alongside a Brooklyn Grange farmer. Depending on the day, you’ll be doing anything from preparing and seeding beds, to staking tomato plants, and to harvesting!

THE AVID APIARIST

Discover what all the buzz is about as a Brooklyn Grange beekeeper explains why honeybees are important pollinators, the thrills and challenges of beekeeping, and different happenings inside the hive. Weather permitting, you’ll also be able to put your knowledge to use by participating in a hands-on guided hive inspection.

THE WATERCOLOR ARTIST

In this team retreat, you’ll learn the basics of watercolor techniques while making your own themed paintings, cards, or vision boards! Artist Nicole Kelner will share how she got started on her watercolor journey and ultimately used her passion to create thought-provoking climate infographics.

Love the feeling of being in our green space? Take an indoor plant home with you! You’ll re-pot your own indoor plant in a terra-cotta pot with support from one of our plant experts. Our instructor will also be available to answer any plant related questions you may have about caring for indoor plants you already have!

THE ECO VOLUNTEER

Make your Team Retreat count! Proceeds from this package benefit City Growers, Brooklyn Grange's nonprofit education partner. City Growers is a youth development educational nonprofit focused on introducing youth to urban agriculture and the vibrant NYC ecosystems. Participants will hear from City Growers staff on the impact their work has on youth. Volunteer activities include working on their learning bed, farm beautification projects, painting row markers, and planting seedlings to be distributed to youth, etc.

Our favorite Brooklyn yoga instructors will guide you through an all-levels practice, internalizing the calming effects of the farm and the embracing serenity. Whether you’re a well practiced yogi or have never stepped on a mat before, this class will help you feel grounded, mindful, and miles away from the daily grind.

This team retreat will consist of decorating your own sugar or gingerbread cookies made fresh in-house. Your cookies are your creation, go wild with icing, sprinkles, candy and more! Everyone will leave with decorated cookies, frozen dough for your next bake-off, and recipes to take home to enjoy.

Embrace the changing of the seasons by bringing a bit of the outdoors inside! During this team retreat, you’ll learn how to decorate your own seasonal wreath using natural grapevine and an assortment of greenery, ribbons, trinkets, dried fruit, and locally sourced & foraged natural elements.
Each guest will take home their own mini wreath (yes, styled by you!) to add some flair to their holiday decor. These mini wreaths are perfect for an apartment door, table centerpiece, or homemade gift!
