Most folks keep their ceremonies intimate and with minimal tech but if you'd like a mic and amp setup for your ceremony or to stream your event to friends/family who can’t be here in person, we've got a recommendation! Devlin’s NYC

FAQs

WHERE DOES THE CEREMONY TAKE PLACE?

We can offer two options. Either: “in the field” - we’ll place narrow wooden platforms between rows of crops along the waterfront for a standing ceremony, or “on the patio” - seated and/or standing ceremony on our paved patio under the three-season awning - great for fully-seated ceremonies as well as protection from rain or direct sun.

IS THIS A SIT-DOWN DINNER?

No, this package is intentionally meant to be brief and limit the amount of planning you need to do! We’ll provide some small seating vignettes with folding chairs and reclaimed wood pallet tables but if you’re looking for a full dinner reception, let’s talk about our standard wedding rental options that will give your caterer the additional setup time and rental furniture they'll need to give you and your guests a great evening! Alternatively, some couples have had their ceremony and photos at the farm and moved to a restaurant or picnicked nearby.

CAN VENDORS ARRIVE EARLY TO SET UP?

Yes, a florist, musicians, caterer, decor deliveries etc can arrive up to 2 hours before guest arrival. Vendor load-out must be complete within 1 hour of the guest departure.

WHAT IF I WANT TO INVITE MORE PEOPLE?

Let’s talk about a standard wedding! The “mini wedding” package is specifically designed for small groups, bearing in mind the staffing and setup needs we can accommodate in-house at an especially budget-friendly rate.

CAN MY FRIEND/RELATIVE OFFICIATE?

Absolutely! We love to see our couples surrounded by people who love them. (Just be clear about your expectations for length, formality, etc.) Most “mini weddings” don’t use amplification but if you and your officiant would like a bit more volume, we’re happy to recommend an A/V provider who can set up a mic and amp for you as well.

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

We are experts at hosting outdoor events rain or shine. Our paved patio is covered with a permanent awning for protection from rain and hot midsummer sun. Side panels can be lowered to further enclose the space if needed.

I’M CONCERNED ABOUT COVID SAFETY. IS THIS SPACE FULLY OUTDOORS?

Yes! Guest safety is a top priority for our events team, too. Our rooftop event space at our Navy Yard farm is fully outdoors. Elevators and restrooms are (necessarily) indoors. [Please contact your event manager for details on the latest covid regulations.]

DO GUESTS NEED VISITORS PASSES TO ENTER THE BROOKLYN NAVY YARD?

Guests arriving for the wedding itself will be on a list for BNY security and won’t need to bring a visitor’s pass with them. Vendors arriving early will be issued with passes to scan for easy entry.

CAN I GET FLOWERS FROM THE FARM?

Yes! We love to take the best of the moment’s seasonal flowers and arrange them in mason jars for onsite events. Guests can take the blooms after the event or we can compost them onsite for you. (We don’t currently provide personal flowers, i.e. bouquets/boutonnieres or special orders for colors/types of flowers -- but we’re happy to make referrals for florists who source locally and organically.

CAN I BRING MY DOG?

Our agricultural certifications don’t permit us to have pets visit for food safety.
