SAM MURRAY

A seasoned entrepreneur, Sam has robust experience as a Founder, CEO and COO. After leaving university to roll up his sleeves and dive into the workforce, Sam's career began at an injection molding company, and most recently found him at Lolliware, a company that develops seaweed into a plastic-alternative material. His leadership experience has crossed a broad range of industries including retail, CPG, manufacturing, B2B, D2C and e-commerce; the throughline has been an ever-deepening commitment to working towards greater positive social and environmental impact, culminating with his appointment as CEO of Brooklyn Grange. Sam is passionate about business, people, and ensuring that goals are rooted in growth, environmental, and social impact. When he’s not biking between Brooklyn Grange’s multiple locations and client sites, he might be found on the tennis court, distance running between boroughs, or searching for unique spots throughout NYC.

PROUDEST MOMENT IN THE GARDEN

Working alongside my dad designing and installing a rose garden in our home as a kid.

The piers alongside Hudson River Park.  I remember them as derelict as a kid and exploring them felt like being on a different planet.  Now they are beautiful, but you still feel removed from NYC and the short distance from the bustle underscores the transformative impact of landscaping.

FAVORITE GREEN SPACE IN NYC

Absolutely love Forsythia, they feel like optimism to me.
