Join beekeeper Tori Coleman as they inspect one of the farm’s rooftop hives! Discover what all of the buzz is about as Tori explains why honeybees are important pollinators, the thrills and challenges of urban beekeeping, and how you could get set up with your own beehive.
You’ll then suit up and get to observe a beehive inspection! We'll be on the lookout for a healthy queen, bees busy making honey, pollen stores and more. Expect to be fascinated, in awe and possibly fall in love with these little ladies by the time the workshop is over. You'll start to notice honeybees all over the city once you know what to look for!About Tori Coleman: Tori is a beekeeper and educator in NYC. They have worked with Raymapu Miel, Girl Next Door Honey, and Sacred Beeometry to hone their beekeeping practice since 2018. Tori currently offers swarm retrieval, live colony removal, hive tours, and hive management services for clients throughout New York City and New York State. When they are not elbows deep in bees, Tori can be found riding their bike or baking bread.
