CANCELLATION POLICY | MASK POLICY | PROOF OF VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS| WEATHER & COVID POLICY | BROOKLYN GRANGE COVID SAFETY PRACTICES
This night will be one for the senses, with the glowing lights of the city skyline surrounding us as we sip away on mugs of hot cider and mulled wine. We’ll spend the evening trading stories of holidays past and plans for ones to come with the aroma of baked oranges & eucalyptus on our fingertips. For Chyanne, the holidays are all about nostalgia. Searching for the perfect gift (or making it!) and stashing them away until that perfect moment waiting to surprise the people you love.
During this workshop, we’ll walk through how to make your own creative holiday garland using various natural elements of fruits, and florals, and all sorts of greenery that Chyanne has spent this past year foraging, drying, and locally sourcing.
Each guest will be taking home their own garland creation, 2 fruit slice & floral ornaments, (yes, made by you!) & 2 salt dough cookie ornaments (also designed by you) just like her great grandma Bernadine used to make with her when she was a kid.
Our workshops and events are available at a sliding scale. We invite you to practice economic solidarity with your community and choose the ticket tier that makes most sense with your financial situation.
-
This tier is at the market rate and reflects the true cost of the service, labor and expertise of producing the workshop/event. This price point allows us to generate a profit. We encourage those with access to wealth to opt for this tier as it enables Brooklyn Grange to offer more tickets at an accessible price.
-
This tier reflects the cost of our service labor and expertise required to produce the workshop/event and allows us to make a small profit. We encourage those to opt for a Sustainable Ticket if the price point of a General Ticket is prohibitive.
-
This ticket tier reflects our intention to make our events open for all! We want all members of our community to enjoy Brooklyn Grange no matter their financial situation. Opt for the Solidarity ticket if General or Sustainable is not accessible to you right now.
About Chyanne Chojnachki:
Like many other ‘New Yorkers’, I am not originally from New York. I was born in what you’d call ‘the sticks’ of Wisconsin. I didn’t have the most traditional upbringing as I moved about every other year until my mid-twenties, when I finally found myself in New York and of course fell in love/got stuck- whichever way you’d like to look at it. Growing up I switched back and forth, living between my 3 sets of grandparents, and my aunt. What I remember fondly is how they always made it feel as if they were all I needed and more. The presents didn’t hurt, but it was the little traditions we’d do no matter how little or how much we had that year that stuck with me all this time. The oyster crackers dipped in butter, the overly spicy chilly, the dogs that would trail after us all day long begging for snacks, and the coziness of it all. Like many other New Yorkers, I moved here not knowing a single soul in this city but now I feel lucky to call it home. I hope with this workshop you not only learn a couple of holiday décor hacks using my experience in floral design, but also maybe make some new friends & memories as well.
